Costs: We are committed to capping club costs for the 2011 season at $500 per player. This
will cover 8 tournament dates (including Regionals), practice time, registration, coaches' fees and miscellanous expenses.
This cost
DOES NOT INCLUDE the cost of new uniforms or balls, together totaling approximately $100.
Uniforms are estimated to be no more than $75. Balls can be optionally purchased and are expected to cost approximately
$25. Parents may submit one lump sum payment, or pay according to the information on the
Fees page.
Length of Season: Most teams in the club will play 8 tournaments. This includes 7 regular
tournaments, and the regional tournament held at the end of the season in Columbus.
Practices: Most teams will begin practicing in early January. Most practices will be held
at Central Christian School, though additional locations will also be used. Generally, practices will be held on Sunday
afternoons and one other night during the week. When tournaments are held on Saturdays, it will be up to the coaches
as to whether or not there will be a Sunday practice. When there are Sunday tournaments, obviously, there will be only
one practice that week.
Tournaments: While efforts will be made to schedule as many Saturday tournaments
as possible, at least half (and possibly more) will be played on Sundays. Most teams will begin tournament play
in early February and continue through late April or early May, usually at the rate of two per month. We will try to
schedule as many tournaments as possible within an hour or two of Kidron.
Player Selection Process: Players will be selected following one two-hour training session.
Players selected will be posted on the Kidron Volleyball Club website (Roster page) within three days. A number
of alternates will also be chosen. Chosen players have ten days to either accept or decline. Additionally,
a player must submit the initial installment of $175 to complete the acceptance process. After ten days, any positions
declined or not accepted will be offered to alternates.
